Group Info

The group icon was created from photos by wldanml.
This group is dedicated to the traditional red, red-nosed colour variety of the American Pit Bull Terrier. A Red Nose dog has a red nose, red lips, red claws and lightly coloured bright eyes, the fur colour is usually red, chocolate, buckskin, white+red or solid white.
This colour is usually associated with the Old Family Red Nose bloodlines that is of Irish origin, but can occur on other lines as well, and in mutts. All of them are accepted here. Just make sure you submit them to the right gallery folder.
Ofcourse colour alone doesn't make a good working dog, but Red Noses are often praised for they are indeed beautiful and chances are they come from excellent working OFRN bloodlines.
Both art and photographs are welcome in this group.

This group was created for the sole purpose of gathering all photography and art of Red Nose Pit Bulls in DeviantArt. I have always had a thing for red dogs, and after studying Pit Bulls and especially the Old Family Red Nose bloodline I fell in love with them even more.
So, without any more unnecessary blah blahs let's share our love for the little red devils!

Bark bark,

Thanks for the affiliation request with :iconfightforyourdogs: but I'm afraid I'll have to decline, as I feel that promoting "red nose" pit bulls is promoting the breeding of such dogs, which FFYD is sorely against. Have a great day.

I just want to say...THANK YOU!

It's really good to know that there are other groups out there dedicated to the proper care of dogs, including, but not limited to, the backyard breeding of these animals. I'm not against all breeding, just backyard breeding, and I will go as far as to remove a friend from my life because they bred their dog for absolutely no reason, and I have no problem with that, because I don't want to be friends with people who don't give a crap about others' lives anyways, be it human or dog. I fully support all reputable breeding practices, but those breeders are so few and far in between that people just don't know, and all the people who do, all the people working to spread the word, those are going to be the people who make a difference in the overpopulation problem, once we get people to stop buying from breeders who breed for all the wrong reasons.

And Naravox, because I know you'll read this, the reason why there is Breed Specific Legislation at all is because of the stereotypes of certain breeds, people getting Pit Bulls because they look bad ass and they want a bad ass dog. Those people end up training that dog to be a bad ass dog, and those bad ass dogs are the ones that go on to attack other dogs and people. Those stereotypes are why people get Siberian Huskies, because they look like wolves, and then when the dogs dig up their backyard or escape one too many times, they dump them off at the pound, or simply don't pick them up after the animal gets locked up by animal control. Those stereotypes are why people Shitpoos and Cockapoos and Goldenshnoodledoos, because it's cool, and they support these backyard breeders who are leading the world in this pet overpopulation epidemic. Yes, it has gotten better in recent years as opposed to the past, but as long as dogs are dying in shelters, there is still a problem, and it is these stereotypes that are killing them. It is these stereotypes that are murdering helpless animals in numerous ways. We are groups against those stereotypes, working to promote knowledge and not ignorance. We are trying to spread the word to get people to stop thinking these ways, to start understanding that it's not the breed, it's the people who get the breed for all the wrong reasons, it's the people who breed the breeds for selfish purposes. I hope this makes better sense to you, and perhaps you, too, can begin educating people about these issues, because every person makes a difference.

Also FFYD has already been affiliated with BBD for a while, so I dont know why they decided to decline the affiliation request on this group and make a big fuss about it. Doesnt seem logical to me, as the problem clearly is BBD.
